If you’re like us, you’re always looking for fun ways to exercise your dog. Getting your dog enough exercise can sometimes mean that you need to do more than just go for a walk! If you have a dog in training, you can use exercise alongside your walking on leash training to make sure you don’t waste any of your time with sub-par walking! Having a well-exercised dog at home also means you’ll have fewer nuisance behaviors to deal with. Tired dogs get into less trouble than dogs who are stuck at home, full of energy! What’s most important is that your dog ENJOYS their exercise, and by following the steps mentioned in this video, you can even strengthen your relationship and listening skills with your pup. The beauty of these tips for exercising your dog indoors is that you can do these exercises with any breed of dog at any age. In this video, Instructor Carol (a 5X World Champion Of Disc Dog) will teach you how to do some of the exercises that she does at home with her own world champion pups!

20.12.2024I have a 4 and a half month puppy and she LOVES to play fetch!❤
@Ridiculina
20.12.2024I’d think about it twice before teaching my dog opening building doors though. Sometimes you really need your doog to stay behind a closed one. Okay, you can lock it, but I’m talking as a previous dog owner who still have claw marks on several of my doors 😮
@davidgartzke2923
20.12.2024Are dogs supposed to have that many treats in a night?? Just curious as I don't like to give my dog TOO many treats……
@kirstystewart2570
20.12.2024This is gold! Thank you 🎉
@annylaurie422
20.12.2024Thank you for these videos – Carol is so enthusiastic and the dogs are having so much fun. Thats what i admire so much about McCann dogs is everyones dedication to the dogs wellbeing
@ajcameron
20.12.2024In my house I have a circuit (2 doors) I open both doors, throw some treats through the door which my dogs go for then close the door and call my dogs. They have to run around the circuit to get back to me. No treat dispenser required.
@lilianamendelson3703
20.12.2024How can I teach my dog not to bark at any person that comes to the house
@Jess_Smith0903
20.12.2024Carol is such a good trainer! She’s so gentle and hypes the dog up so much when they make any progress towards the final goal. I’d love to have someone who cheered me up anytime I make any progress in my life hahaha! The dogs and us, love you Carol!
@stocktonmiranda
20.12.2024Amazing! Where can i find the target toys in the background specificially the standing stick with the red rubber top? Ive looked everywhere!
@melissajenkins9960
20.12.2024That dog moves at 2x speed. Such a little bundle of energy, I love it ❤
@marcus_ohreallyus
18.12.2024Love this, thanks
@tangolady45
18.12.2024What treats di you use? My pup does it not like the training treats. Now I try cat treats because they are small and quick to eat !
@waggingtheworldwithwinston
18.12.2024As a fellow dog trainer this video absolutely warmed my heart ❤
Such beautiful dog handling skills
@happyautumn3938
18.12.2024What do you do with older dogs who have no 8nterest in toys and are not food motivated?
@lizchilders4154
18.12.2024I play “Find It 123” with my Boston. I hide small tasty treats in 3 places and he searches all over our great room for them. He loves it, and so do we. I
@Aniejayandmei
18.12.2024I want to play Find it with Carol. The fun is contagious!
@lindaward6057
18.12.2024My dog has no interest in playing. How can I engage him?
@slackleashdogtraining3598
18.12.2024what a great lesson in “FIND IT!”. Great Video so wonderful to watch you two work together.
@nataliemarshall7158
18.12.2024Everything is awesome! I have enjoyed watching bits and pieces of this project with over the last year or so but the biggest thing I can’t get over is, How is it that your walk in robe now looks 5 times bigger? It’s like the Tardis!!
@squrtcap
18.12.2024Dogs can hear very well and even are more apt at locating the item when it hits the ground, like sonar.
@Raelven
13.12.2024Cheerio? Is that the dog's name? Oh my gosh. What a pretty doggie. He looks like a ton of fun!
@dougaldarcy6463
13.12.2024lots of positive reinforcement which is always good in any training, and always helps the bond between you and your dog. I have found with my dogs it works, some can take a little longer but you build a trust with them. Never be harsh. It isnt necessary
@sjwilson1079
13.12.2024My dogs love tug of war with a tug rope
@flower-ss2jt
13.12.2024So this trainer teaches your dog to jump up at you when you recall? And she uses a squeaky excited voice to tire the dog? Not the training I want for my dog thanks.
@margaretnorris5840
13.12.2024Thank you!
@peacelove7706
13.12.2024The main issue I’ve had trying to train my 2 dogs….they are not food driven at all and won’t eat any training treats…I’d literally have to cook a steak and cut it up…. So how do I reward? I use my voice, uplifting and praising…but that only works for a few minutes…Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@colossusX1
13.12.2024Old video but new comment – at what age would you start this kind of thing with puppies?
@karenfrizzo4251
13.12.2024Those games are a great idea😊
@krsncrs821
13.12.2024These are great ideas! But I never ever want a large dog being rewarded for jumping up on a person. If I have my 90 year old mother walk in the room and that big dog jumps up on her, or on a small child, the dog could cause serious injury. That behavior should never be rewarded or allowed like is being shown here.
@callibea
13.12.2024Taking a dog for a walk is not just about exercise. Sheesh
@glassartist1726
10.12.2024Carol! I always enjoy your training style and enthusiasm! Such great training tips. Thank you!
@mikamamma
10.12.2024I've read that you are supposed to wait 2 hours after a walk before feeding a dog to avoid them getting bloat. If that's the case, then wouldn't that last game with all the distance and running back and forth, put them at risk?
@barbarapaine8054
10.12.2024Ends up that “find it” works with cats, too! My cat is enjoying the game.
@Caroline-pb8xx
10.12.2024Cheerio is the happiest dog I've ever seen
@nopepper
10.12.2024Why do you say "no previous skill"? Looks like previous skill is required in the dog.
@brianbloomer4949
10.12.2024What are using for treats? Labs and golden retrievers tend to put on weight. I'm looking for something that will help motivate but not put on weight. LOVE your work.
@bayareagrl4ever526
10.12.2024I have four dogs. We walk at least twice a day, 2 dogs at a time these days, so 4-6 walks for me. And I’m getting old and have a torn meniscus and other issues. I’m so tired. So we do games like hide & sniff, puzzles etc. But then the vet complains the Beagles are over weight lol, I can’t win. Oh to be young again.
@ayelean9397
10.12.2024You rock! As a fellow dog trainer, this is gold! Training can be fun for the human and dog if done right. These exercises are GREAT for the winter months in cold climates.
@greb4
10.12.2024My dog absolutely loves this game I made, and tires him out all night.(personally I don't super love this game because it takes a lot of exercise out of me too lol) take a rope toy or a large toy they can grip onto easily, and lift it up so they have to jump for it. Then make them sit/stay for it ect. Move around a lot as well, when they do catch it play a hefty game of tug a war with them and repeat! I was very frustrated with my dog because he wasn't food motivated, but now, learning he's toy motivated. (and has a sensitive stomach, so alot of treats aren't good for him) he knows quite a few tricks now! at first he could only jump around my mid height, but now he can reach over my head! (I'm around five foot three) this game helped me so much and I hope it can help others 🙂 feel free to tell me if it works, id love to know!
@jaynemercer-smith9911
10.12.2024I notice that you train with leads/leashes on in these videos. Do you suggest this is best?
@privatenexus5764
09.12.2024i'm not a dog trainer, but they appear to be playing the games for the treats, not because they "LOVE" the game. Fetch / throwing a ball is a treat in itself, no food necessary. And most dogs I have owned looooved playing tug-a-war. Again, no treats necessary.
@Kalamero
09.12.2024My wife gas a 4 month old male puppy called Biscuit.
He is a Staffordshire Bull terrier crossed with a whipet.
Our vet believes the breeder gave him to my wife too young after 6 weeks – she said 9 weeks but born on 14-FEB-2024 means hes nearly 4 months old now.
He gets separation anxiety when if ANYBODY leaves the house he barks !!
Hes full if love and wants to cuddle and kuss all ither humans when walking past them – such a sweet boy.
But if my wife goes to the shops, and i am working in the iffice, he barks abd barks and barks…..
I will sometimes open iffice door but i worry hus bark may be heard by the customer on the phone.
If i give him attention hes ok and stops barking but how to do that at sane time as working ?? ( normally i work from my ownhouse so no oroblems there but its when im assisting my wife who has health issues )
Biscuit us hopefully going to help my wife get out of the house 3 times a day walking him, and they already have a close bond, which is so nice to see.
Our Cat, Thomas, is more ' my cat ' she feels as if she was abriad for a lot of 2022, and I've always been close with Thomas.( our cat )
Hence, this is why Biscuit joined the family.
But i am more calm as opposed to my wife generally
.
I feel i am making great progress with Biscuit, and once my wifes leg has healed, she can start enjoying a wonderful relationship with this wonderful wee puppy who is getting bigger and bigger every day !!
And i must confess i ove him already, too….🧡🐕
Thanks for your informative video.

09.12.2024I used to play find it with the day's allotment of treats. I'd hide them under a stinky sock in the couch cushions, under a rug, all sorts of places. Started in one room and increased the search area as my dogs got better at it. They loved it.
@beanburrito8903
09.12.2024This lady brings me hope ❤
@msdixie1
09.12.2024We play “Easter Basket” every morning with our Mini Aussie. She gets her bkfst meal in a Kong-like ball. She waits in the kitchen while we hide the ball somewhere in the house. When she finds it, she rolls it around & the kibble occasionally falls out. We’re retired, so we spend a lot of time playing games with her.
@technicolor965
09.12.2024what a gorgeous spaniel
@joannetasse94
09.12.2024I love the way you play with your dog and all the advice you gave me ❤❤. Thank you very much for sharing this video with me ❤️❤️❤️
@joannetasse94
09.12.2024I love the way you play and train your dogs👋. You're really awesome. Lol, could you please come over and help me with my dog 😅? Please reply 🙏
@joannetasse94
09.12.2024My dog is also named Lucy 😅😅
@jacobsmiley5981
09.12.2024I taught my dog go find it, he really likes the game but he’s kinda bad at it. He’ll never be a search and rescue dog but he likes to pretend
