While brain teasers can be a fun and engaging way to promote critical thinking, it's important to note that critical thinking is a broader skill that can be developed through various activities, including analyzing literature, engaging in debates, and solving real-world problems. Brain teasers can be a valuable component of a more comprehensive approach to building critical thinking skills.

The answer would be correct if the question were βWhat do you light first?β

08.12.2024
You saig "A Rooster lays an egg" I allowed that for the hypothetical, as that is what I thought the query wanted. I thought you were using poetic license to make your point about the egg.
@stenhealey7320
08.12.2024
I honestly thought to myself "a rooster can't lay an egg" then immediately disregarded that as a solution (which is a weakness I admit) but I did so because in my experience people are by and large aren't very well informed. Some people think that pineapples grow on trees, and I grew up somewhere (in the third world) where they thought that chickens could only lay eggs when a rooster was involved and there are so many more examples of this.
Also if you are in a dark room with single match, a lamp, candle and stove you can't light the match because matches can't be lit without a striker strip – unless you have a very specific type of match. So the presenter is falling prey to the exact same issue he described.
